The Ircon Ltd.’s Solution for a Road Bridge Near Plovdiv

After the kind invitation of the non-profit association “BUSINESS FOR PLOVDIV”, the engineering office of Ircon Ltd. developed an alternative solution for the Road Bridge at the intersection of Republic road II-86 with Asenovgradsko shosse blvd in Plovdiv. The proposed structural design relies on composite solution. The bridge deck is reinforced concrete slab, the main and transverse beams are composite steel-concrete, and the lower structure is made of reinforced concrete pillars and abutments.

Ircon Ltd.’s team believes that the time has come for intensive update of bridge construction technologies in Bulgaria. It is time for society to look at this type of engineering facilities in the long-term and to demand not only functionality but also aesthetic qualities and cost-benefit analysis in the long-term.
